Cleaning up in Tuebrook!

Carol Sung recently had a letter published in the Liverpool Echo on the state of entries in Tuebrook:

As a child I would cut through the alleyways to run messages for my Aunt. They were always clean and well cared for, bins were kept out back on the property and left for the bin collectors.

The introduction of alley gates has greatly improved security but provided a different problem. Some alleys are now impassable with builders waste dumped and weeds looking more like Triffids. Dogs are let out into the alleys unsupervised to use them as toilets.

Tuebrook has an especially bad problem with cleanliness. Residents must take care with their bins and ensure they are well looked after. We can only make a difference if we choose to.

This is following on from the work Carol has done in sorting the mess in a number of alleyways in Central Tuebrook, as well as on Townsend Lane and the adjoining streets.

All this clean-up work is in addition to the regular monthly litter-picks that Carol organises in Newsham Park.
