Tuebrook and Stoneycroft disproportionately suffers from too many low-quality flats and shared houses. For too long, large family houses have been converted into small flats, often of poor quality. Having lived off West Derby Road for over thirty years, I am aware that this is a real problem. Most people tell me the area has been going downhill for years.

 

But there is some good news. The Council has Planning powers which can restrict the development of more of these flats in our area. I am pressing Liverpool City Council to pilot a scheme in Tuebrook and Stoneycroft, which will use these powers to protect the future of our neighbourhood.
