Carlton - future secured?
The Carlton, a local eyesore and long-running magnet for anti-social behaviour looks to have its future secured at last. After years of campaigning by local MP Stephen Twigg, the building has changed ownership. The new owners are seeking early planning permission for a residential development at the site. Stephen met with the developers to hear of their exciting plans. This will include the demolition of all the existing buildings. The developer hopes that this demolition phase will be completed by in the next few months.
Tuebrook campaigner Carol Sung declared “Stephen Twigg and I have been working long and hard to tackle the issues caused by the Carlton. I’m so pleased that it finally looks like we’ve found a solution to the problems it has brought.”
