Local champion Carol Sung has welcomed the news that the Labour Council is continuing its investment into Newsham Park, with a brand-new fountain in the lake.

“Newsham Park is one of the city’s hidden gems”, Carol declared. “I’m glad the Labour Council recognise it, and are investing the money to back it up.”

Carol met with Council bosses to lobby for the plans and is excited by what she saw. “I’m delighted our work has paid off. The fountain will be a beautiful addition to the Park’s facilities and will help keep the lake properly maintained.”

Liverpool Labour has a proud record of investing in the city’s green spaces. The fountain comes hot on the heels of Carol’s success in securing the skate park facility for Newsham Park.

Carol also had a letter on the subject published in the Liverpool Echo, which can be read below:

I wanted to praise the City Council for their continued investment in Newsham Park following the announcement that a fountain is to be installed in the lake in the near future.

Tuebrook residents have always known that Newsham Park is one of our city’s hidden gems and I am pleased that the Council recognise this. Furthermore, Joe Anderson is putting his money where his mouth is, having already agreed to invest in a new skate park facility for the Park.

The Council has been heavily criticised by a few people recently but I’m delighted to say that Tuebrook is certainly benefitting!
